P2.5-M richer

MAGNA CARTA, a 4-year-old bay colt trained by R.R. Henson and ridden by Ace Jockey Jesse B. Guce, scored an easy 8 length victory over nearest rival and 3rd choice Hari Ng Yambo and claimed the top prize of P2.5-Million for proud owner M.D.T Javier in last Sunday’s staging of the rich P4-Million 17th “PCSO Silver Cup Race” at the MJCI’s San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite.

Magna Carta was in 2nd place watching pace setter Arvindugo as the gates at the 2,000-meter opened and was still in this position as they reach the judges’ stand for the 1st time. Before they reach the final bend for home, Magna Carta easily took the lead and the race was over in 2 minutes and 7 seconds with fraction times of 24’-24’-26’-25-26’.

Hari Ng Yambo overtook the fast tiring Arvindugo at the wire and earned the runnerup prize of P700,000 for E.A. Santos while the letter settled for P350,000. 4th placer longshot Prime Rate salvaged P250,000. Cheese Mosa, Arvindugo’s more popular couple entry, was left behind.

Nagwagi naman sa supporting event ng Mayor “Jejomar Erwin Binay, Jr. Cup” race ay ang top favorite Life Is Beautiful na nagantimpalaan ng 1st prize of P300,000, Trophy plus Mayor’s Cup para kay owner E.M. Santos, Jr.

It is worth mentioning na ang nagsipanalo dito sa “Araw Ng Makati Racing Festival” from Races 1 to 13 respectively ay ang Aranque, Going West, Magna Carta, Top Meat, Life Is Beautiful, Sliotar, California, Eternity, Vergara, Panamera, Meadow Lad, longest shot Dragon May at Shut Up.

Ang 1st set (R1-7) ng WTA events dito ay nagbigay ng P2,678.20 each, ang 2nd set (R5-11) ay P10,108.80 each para sa holders ng 107 winning tickets at ang 3rd set (R7-13) naman ay P204,319 each para sa 5 winners.

Nag-iwan pa rito ng carry over amount of P320,460.63 dahil walang tumama sa huling Super Six event kung saan nagtambalan ang Shut Up, You Belong To Me, Valentine Rose, Paradiso, Mike Zam Lady at Gobilis. Idaragdag ito sa immediate Super Six event sa pabalik na mga karera dito sa San Lazaro.

Para sa kapakanan ng mga di nakadalo, dito naman sa Santa Ana kahapon (Thursday), ang tanging WTA covering Races 1 to 7, ay nagkaroon lamang ng 31 winners na nagbigay nang magandang premyong P96,285 each kung saan nagtambalan ang Love Story,longshot Apple Green, Chevrome, St. Mark, All Exist, Camorra at Don Ronaldo.
