Manila, Philippines – Defense secretary Voltaire Gazmin, an avid golfer, will hit the ceremonial ball to officially open the NGAP-Globe Business Philippine Senior Amateur championship at the tight Camp Aguinaldo layout on Wednesday.
Former President Fidel V. Ramos has also been invited to be one of the guests of honor even as a banner field is expected with trophies in several brackets, aside from the centrepiece Open division, up for grabs.
The Open division in the event also backed by Pancake House, Mizuno and Alveo Land will be played over 54 holes and has drawn the finest names in the ranks coming from those who also play in the PAL Interclub.
A mid-am division, which NGAP president Tommy Manotoc is using to give the average golfer a chance to play in big events, will also be held with reigning national champion Raymond Bunquin leading the list of entries.
