Manila, Philippines – Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr., Sunday thanked Pasay Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Jesus Mupas of Branch 112 for allowing his father, former Comelec Chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr., to temporarily leave his jail cell at the SPD headquarters in Fort Bonifacio to celebrate with family and friends the birthday of his oldest granddaughter.
Abalos was arrested by the police last December 13 and was subsequently taken and detained at the SPD’s temporary jail facility. (Francis T. Wakefield)
