POEA bans 2 hiring agencies

Manila, Philippines – The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has banned two US-based employment agencies for recruitment violations.

US Opportunities LLC and Royal Hospitality Services LLC were thus removed from the list of recruitment agencies accredited by the Philippines.

The POEA resolved with finality the recruitment violation cases filed against them over their failure to provide several Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) the jobs specified in their contracts.

“The POEA orders their exclusion from participating in the government’s overseas employment program for contractual violation under the POEA Rules and Regulations Governing the Recruitment and Employment of Land-based Overseas Workers,” said POEA Administrator Hans Cacdac.

The POEA had earlier suspended US Opportunities and Royal Hospitality Services and were not allowed to recruit additional OFWs for their client companies.

Zdrive Inc., their accredited recruitment agency in the Philippines, was also suspended on August 20, 2010 before its license was eventually cancelled by the POEA on May 31, 2011. (Leslie Ann G. Aquino)
