CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – A motorcycle collided with a car, killing one person and seriously injuring another along a national highway in Barangay Ribsuan, Naguillian, La Union last Saturday.
Based on a report reaching Bombo Radyo, PO2 Froilan Caalang, Naguillian police investigator, identified the fatality as Abet Veñigas, a back-rider of the motorcycle and resident of Baguio City.
Caalang said the injured victim, one Immanuel Diaz, the motorcycle driver, of Baguio City, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police investigation showed that the victims were on their way home
to Baguio City when their motorcycle collided with an Innova car driven by one Victor Aspellega, 46, a businesman, of Governor Center Subdivision, Military Cut-Off, Baguio City.
It was also reported that the motorcycle allegedly took the opposite lane of the highway, resulting in the collision.
Caalang said the driver of the car is now under police custody. (Freddie G .Lazaro)
