CAMP PRESIDENT QUIRINO, Ilocos Sur, Philippines – Senior Superintendent Noel B. Amoyen, Ilocos Sur police director, has formed a special investigation task force to probe the death of a Hong Kong resident in an ambush in Barangay San Nicolas, San Esteban, Ilocos Sur, last Sunday.
Amoyen said yesterday that the victim was identified as Wu Ye, a visiting Hong Kong resident, who arrived in the country on May 22, 2012.
“I immediately created a special investigation task force for the incident to look for its urgent solution,“ Amoyen said.
Police said the victim and his driver-companion, Carlos Uy, 49, of Pasay City, were on board a Mazda SUV (POA 589) when they were ambushed by unidentified motorcycle-riding men in Barangay San Nicolas, San Esteban, Ilocos Sur, last Sunday morning.
The suspects used a .9mm pistol in shooting the victims based on the eight bullet shells recovered from the crime scene.
Ye died on the spot due to multiple bullet wounds in different parts of the body while Uy was rushed to a hospital for treatment. (Freddie G. Lazaro)
