ALFONSO, Cavite – A two-year-old girl died while her three-year-old boy playmate was injured when they were accidentally hit by a motorcycle driven by a high school student in Barangay Kaytitinga of this town, police reported yesterday.
The red Honda Wave motorcycle (4887 PN) driven by the suspect, Reynan L. Hernando, 17, rammed the victims, Jennica Mae Vidallon and Neil Russel Cassanova, as they were playing in the area.
Both victims, who sustained head and body injuries, were first brought to Dr. Poblete Memorial Hospital in this town but were later transferred to De La Salle University Medical Center where Vidallon reportedly died.
Hernando was held at Alfonso Municipal Police Station after the accident.
Case investigator PO1 Romer N. Rodis said the accident happened at about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday as Hernando was practicing to drive the motorcycle.
While Hernando was traveling the road, he suddenly lost control of the motorcycle handle and headed to a terrace space of a house of Nemia Vidallon Cassanova where the two children were playing. (Anthony Giron)
