US Treasury official visiting country

Manila, Philippines – United States Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Neal S. Wolin will visit the country for two days starting Janaury 11.

Wolin will meet senior government officials to express support for the economic reforms undertaken by the Aquino administration. Prior to his trip to Manila, Wolin, a former Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Counsel to the President for Economic Policy in the White House under US President Barack Obama, will travel to Thailand to promote continuing economic reforms to ensure regional stability and foster global growth.

Wolin, who previously spent eight years serving in the Clinton administration, including as general counsel and deputy general counsel at the Treasury and on the staff of the United States National Security Council, will also meet with the Aquino government’s economic policy team to exchange perspectives on global and regional developments and review economic policy issues that are critical for boosting trade in order to support jobs and economic growth in the United States.
