Former Blue Eagles lead PBA trade buzz

MANILA, Philippines – With all due respect to Talk ‘n Text and the Powerade Tigers, one of the more talked about things concerning the Professional Basketball Association (PBA) as of late are the potential player movements for the eliminated teams.

And while nothing is official just yet, PBA fans are bound to be at the edge of their seats if some high profile players may soon be donning new colors perhaps as soon as the PBA Commissioner Cup which opens on February 10, 2012.

The most buzzed and talked about trade has to be that of between B-Meg and Ginebra. There is talk that Barangay Ginebra is interested in bringing in Kerby Raymundo to their fold in exchange for possibly JC Intal and Enrico Villanueva.

As you would guess, a lot of B-Meg fans are unhappy about it and are praying to the basketball gods that it is not true.

Of course, in order for the trade to get some headway, a third team will need to enter the fray. And word has it that the said team will be Air21 (formerly the Barako Bull Energy).

JC Intal has been the eye of most teams, especially after delivering the quality minutes for Barangay Ginebra in their campaign.

There was talk late last year that the former Eagle high flyer was being eyed by Alaska but nothing really materialized.

So will B-Meg be successful this time around?

Then there is another PBA superstar on the trading block in LA Tenorio. Unofficially, the certified Aces point guard is said to be up for grabs but with no team in particular just yet.

But if you are a follower of the games, chances are that teams aching for a true point guard and someone who is not afraid to take over in the clutch would be the most likely team to pursue the former King Eagle.

To date, the only official trade papers that are reportedly with PBA commissioner Chito Salud is a trade between Meralco’s Chico Lanete and Air21’s Paul Artadi. Other than that, nothing official yet is on his table.

We tried to get some information from the Atty. Salud but apparently commissioner but apparently nothing official has been submitted on the rumored PBA trades people are raving about.

Well, until something official comes out, these are all floating in the air.

However, a decision on the Lanete-Artadi trade will be decided on today, which in most likeliness seems to be a fair one if I were to answer the question which most likely the good PBA commissioner would ask me to evaluate. (Brian Yalung)
