Court orders Ramgen suspect detained

Manila, Philippines – The Paranaque City Regional Trial Court issued yesterday a commitment order stating that Ryan Pastera, one of the accused in the killing of Ramgen Revilla and wounding of Janelle Manahan, should be detained at the Paranaque City Jail under the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.

Ryan Pastera, tagged as the contact person and main recruiter of the Bautista siblings, surrendered himself to the National Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday morning after the Judge Fortunito Madrona issued a warrant of arrest last week. Pastera’s lawyer Melinda Salcedo said they received a copy of the arrest warrant last Friday which prompted Pastera to present himself to the NBI.

At past 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, NBI agents brought Pastera to the Paranaque RTC to determine where he will be detained. Madrona issued on Wednesday noon an order to transfer the respondent to Paranaque City Jail, where other respondents in the case are detained. Pastera joins Ramon Joseph “RJ” Bautista, Glaiza Visda and Norwin Dela Cruz at the Paranaque City Jail. (Mitch Arceo)
