Manila, Philippines – The “Good Samaritan Spirit” among darters will again be displayed tomorrow as hundreds of darters are expected to participate in the “Bisig Darters Huling Hirit 2011, a Classifi ed Doubles and Womens Singles charity tournament set at 8:45 pm (game time) at the NU Grill of the Ambassador Hotel in Mabini, Malate, Manila.
The ‘darts for cause’ tournament which started in 1991 has always attracted a multitude of darters not merely competing for the top purse but more than anything else being a part of a fund raiser for less fortunate brothers.
“Upon registration participants are also enjoined to donate in kind –clothing materials among others to be distributed to the victims of typhoon Sendong which recently hit some areas in Mindanao, particularly in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan where we have a lot of darting members” said Errol Magtubo organizer of the event.
Supporting the project are Conautic Maritime Inc., Tobys Sports, Amber Golden Plate and Restaurant, Dart ware, Monster, Terton craft and Signex.
Also extending their help are darting friends Dick and Cathy Odulio, Larry Memije, Togs Perez, Mohd Sulaiman, Flor Aldon, Jiki Valmonte, Renato Mauricio, Joel Songsong, Noel Lautengco, Ren Fuentez and Chito Yakapin.
More than Php 28,000 worth of prizes and awards is at stake in the year-end dartfest which is also the birthday celebration of Magtubo, a long-time well-loved darts tourney organizer. Mode of play is 501 multiple legs double elims. Registration begins at 6:45 p.m.
