SILANG, Cavite, Philippines – Four persons, including a baby girl and her grandfather, died last Monday night while ﬁve others were seriously injured when two cars collided head-on on Aguinaldo Highway in Barangay Lalaan II of this town, police said.
One of the two cars reportedly emitted ﬁre following the collision, killing the driver and his companion on the spot. Both vehicles overturned and were wrecked due to the collision impact.
It was the second worst accident that happened in Silang this year.
In a report to Senior Superintendent John C. Bulalacao, Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, Police Officer I Erwin Laureles, case investigator, identiﬁed three of the four dead as oneyear-old Eliana Aseramo Navarro, her grandfather Cesar D. Navarro, 60, a Social Security System (SSS) pensioner, both residents of Palikpikan Street, Balayan, Batangas; and one Jaime Antonio S. Villarta, of Almanza II, Las Piñas City, Metro Manila.
The fourth fatality – a companion of Villarta – remained unidentiﬁed as of press time.
The young and elderly Navarro were both declared on arrival at Tagaytay City Medical Center where they were rushed after their bodies were pulled out of their car. Villarta and his companion, who were in another car, died on the spot.
Injured were Lota Aseramo Navarro, 34, Enrico Apasan Navarro, 34, reportedly parents of Eliana; another relative, Jonalyn Diaz Aseramo, 17, one Michael Kenneth Sisno Manlulu Sisno, of Block 1, Lot 6, Meadowood Executive Village, Bacoor, Cavite, and a certain Harley Vitingco Borja, of Block 6, Lot 18, 17 Cobalt Street, Golden City, Imus, Cavite.
The survivors were all brought to De La Salle University Medical Center in Dasmarinas, Cavite.
