Cop dies in bike accident

BANGGAR, La Union, Philippines – A police officer died Wednesday afternoon after he was thrown off his motorcycle along a national highway in Barangay Blas, here.

Police identified the victims as Police Officer 2 Bernardo Tubon, a member of the Banggar Police Station and resident of Barangay Lapug, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur.

Initial investigation showed the victim was driving his motorcycle in full speed when he lost control of his vehicle. He was thrown off his motorcycle and landed head first on the concrete pavement.

The victim was rushed by concerned motorists to a nearby hospital but he was declared dead on arrival due to severe head and body injuries. (Dexter A. See)
