Manila, Philippines – The grandson of a retired police general shot himself dead inside a motel room in Quezon City Monday afternoon allegedly over a shaky relationship with his girlfriend.
Investigator SPO2 Christopher Ronquillo identified the victim as call center agent Luis Christopher Alvarado, 26, who currently resides at a rented apartment unit in Don Antonio Heights, Quezon City.
Ronquillo learned that the victim is the grandson of retired General Marino Filart, former chief of the now defunct Capital Region Command (Capcom). Alvarado’s father is the nephew of Filart.
The investigator said that the victim was already dead when police found him at around 12:41 a.m. yesterday inside Room 708 of the Sogo Hotel located along Roces Avenue in Barangay Pinagkaisahan.
The victim shot himself in his right temple with the bullet passing the other side using a .38 caliber revolver that he was still holding when police found him. (Jeffrey G. Damicog)
