IMUS, Cavite, Philippines – One person died while 11 others were injured in vehicular accidents that were reported last Saturday in three separate towns in Cavite, police said.
A weekend police report said that three accidents happened on Indang-Alfonso Road in Barangay Katambog, Indang; Covelandia Road in Barangay Aplaya, Kawit town; and Aguinaldo Highway in Barangay Amuyong, Alfonso.
At least 11 passengers, mostly women, were injured when a speeding mini-bus malfunctioned, overturned and fell into a canal on Covelandia Road at 7:15 p.m. Saturday. The injured were brought to Kalayaan Hospital in Kawit.
Police held the bus driver – one Alfred Rayles Perea, 26, of Timalan Concepcion, Naic, Cavite – after the accident.
One Pepe A. Roderno, 42, died when a passenger jeepney (DKM 19) hit the motorcycle he was driving on Indang-Alfonso Road at 6:30 a.m. also on Saturday. (Anthony Giron)
